We bought this coach after selling our home. We split our time between locations that included this RV. The layout is amazing and very comfortable for two people and a pet. You can have privacy, but you can also entertain comfortably. We added a dishwasher in the spacious kitchen and a washer/dryer in the bedroom, making all the difference. Regardless of the season, the Arctic package made it comfortable, and the quality of the construction gave us confidence that we were safe. We never had issues with towing or the weather. The windows and in-kitchen dining overlooking the living room made it feel like you were watching sports at a stadium. We set up two offices, and that worked great! We would keep it, but we're headed to our next adventure by boat!

I bought this rv for living. It was two years old when I bought it. I had it maybe a year when the black tank fell. At the time I was not traveling, good thing. It cost me $1500 to fix it. Not even a year it fell again. More money to fix it. This time the tech put angle iron under it to hold it up. So far that worked. But he left it open under there to come back and check on it. Good thing because every now and then it leaks just a little. Now that’s not even all of it. The smell is horrible. We have tried everything we can to keep the smell down. We have to flush the tank every three days. My bath room closet always smells. The only thing that hasn’t been checked is the vent. Needless to say, I will never buy a Grand Design trailer. So disappointed in this trailer. Grand design is supposed to be the top of the line. Never again

This is our second Grand Design Solitude. Our experience with Grand Design customer service after the sale has been fantastic. This is not the dealers unfortunately but we all know the dealer service departments leave a lot to be desired. Every RV has issues, in my book it is how the manufacture handles those issues. Grand Design has been top A++ We are getting ready to order our third Grand Design Solitude all due to the fantastic service we have received. Thank you Grand Design for being the best RV Manufacture in my opinion.

We purchased our Solitude late last July 2023. It had several issues that needed repair. The Solitude was purchased new over 6 figures. After multiple phone calls, emails, and texts we finally picked up our Solitude on November 13, 2023. They didn’t clean the unit inside or outside. We plugged into shore power and everything seemed to be working great. One of the issues was the replacement of one refrigerator door and the freezer drawer. Upon leaving Oklahoma for Florida I discovered that the ice maker wouldn’t work. Upon investigation it had water in the reservoir but wouldn’t freeze. I also noticed that $200 worth of frozen beef had begun to thaw. The reason as I soon discovered was that the seals were missing on the two doors your company replaced. The level of incompetence you guys display just keeps on giving!  4 months of it now. The bed was never repaired. I’m not sure what was going on when you were making the repairs but the island has gouges and marks all over it. I’m guessing when whomever brought in the replacement recliners they did it. Russell (Service Advisor) is the only person I dealt with that showed any professionalism. He apologized for the delay many times. He was also extremely courteous. Nick (Sales Manager) also displayed a desire to help us. Alex made the sale and forgot about us, real nice! Jason (Service Manager) is worthless. He never made one followup call to advise us of any progress. Actually no one made any attempt to give us status updates. I had to demand to see him to get anything accomplished. In fact I had to show up in person because other forms of communication didn’t work. Again worthless. I will never do business with McClains again, ever. I’ve purchased two Grand Designs from your store. Thank goodness the Imagine never had any issues. Grand Design has a great product. So if you want to purchase one go out of state.

Ordered this unit in 2021. 1. Waited a long time for delivery. Arrived at dealership with kitchen slide half out, held in place by ratchet straps. Dealership tried to repair, but failed on 1st outing. Grand Design authorized new parts for rebuild. 2. Few months later, while extending this slide, gas line came undone from attachment clip under slide (not from fitting) and got pinched by slide. Repairs not covered…considered maintenance. 3. Earlier this year I noticed the frame separating from plywood in storage compartment under this same slide. Dealer said probably resulted from Schwintech slide vibrating weird. Also not covered by GD or extended. This will shock you….MAINTENANCE. 4. After last outing this October, I noticed water dripping from underbelly under kitchen. Dealership had to drop underbelly and gry tank under kitchen and discovered drain pipe at top of gry tank wasn’t installed/caulked properly and finally vibrated loose. Also not covered by GD or extended. This will shock you…MAINTENANCE. Not sure how I could maintain this😡. 5. Also in October, we found water in hallway outside bathroom. Swelled the door trim. I took out the bathroom drawers and discovered hot water line to left sink was barely connected. I mean less than a full turn and it came off the fitting. Yep… not covered. I sent this info in a polite email to GD three weeks ago asking for help in restoring my confidence in GD. NOTHING……

I can't say enough about Grand Design. They really take care of their customers. The floorplan on this model is absolutely perfect for full-time living! Plenty of space and storage. We have everything with us and we still have empty cabinets! This until is very user friendly with plenty of manuals and online support! This is the perfect retirement unit for you! Full size kitchen with ample counter space and full size appliances. Master bedroom/bathroom screams luxury! Living room has theater seats with heat and massage, along with 2 queen size pull out beds. Easy to wipe clean vinyl flooring throughout. No carpet in here to keep allergens away. Central vacuum is the best! It has the 4-season package - no weather too hot or cold for this baby! Cozy, feel like home alongside the fireplace as you take in a picturesque view in the panoramic front window. Or, have your morning coffee sitting at your kitchen table with oversized windows for the perfect view of the morning sun. Two awnings will keep you shaded all day long. Convenient climate controlled basement is through and through making everything within reach.

Just way too many problems with Grand Design RV Solitude 390RK-R 5th wheel to list. From nails popping through the linoleum on the floor to leaking roof. Grand Design knowing the kitchen slide outs never had rollers installed to properly carry to carry the weight still denied us twice to reimburse us to fix their mistakes. The local Grand Design dealer required full payment and told us to contact the company even with an assigned control number. Grand Design says our five slide-outs are not structural and are not covered by the three year structural warranty. I think Grand Design just denies all warranty claims. Having had to deal with how Grand Design treats their customers when the RV has a problem clearly makes our Worst mistake in our life was buying a Grand Design. They do not stand behind the product they sell. They find excuses not to do the right thing and pay to fix the problem. Be sure to warn your family and friends to look elsewhere if they are even remotely thinking of buying a RV. Their competition has built a RV that's shorter but has another 1,000 to 1,700 lbs of carrying cargo. A much better configuration. Shame on management to sit in elkhart Indiana and just not care.

Manufactured 8/2021 and purchased new in 11/2021. A few issues as is typical with a new unit but nothing major, no Covid build issues. Floorplan is great, mid-bunk makes a great daily office and guest room when needed. Although the two couches (one in LR, one in mid-bunk) are uncomfortable for sleeping, there is a gap when they are opened. Tons of storage in the kitchen/living area. Moderate storage outside, typical of a fifth-wheel. Small water heater but large fresh, grey (2) and black tanks. Replaced RV king mattress. Oven is a pain to use, doesn't stay lit well, but there is a convection microwave. Huge windows and awnings. Overall, not much I don't like about our unit.

Here is a list of some of the items that has broken in the 4 months we have owned this trailer…. Recliner motor, scratched counter top (Was scratched on the walk through, the dealer took pictures and Grand Design said they won’t replace it) closet hangers, sink plumbing, brake wiring, bathroom vanity cupboard, wall panel, window clips, and more. We live in the trailer and dealers say they need it for a month or so to do the warranty work and Grand Design is fighting them on everything anyway. We went over our budget to buy a Grand Design because of their apparent quality but and very disappointed. It’s like buying a cheaply made product you would get on Wish.
