Bought this trailer in 2019 new from Camping World Kingston NY, 1st trip out 4th of July weekend the shower detached from the wall, towel ring feel off and the aerator on the kitchen sink split. The factory wanted me to ship it back to the factory and lose months of camping all the while making monthly payments, they then sent me a list of local repair shops and the one I went to repaired the shower as best they could and when I called back to have it fixed they told me they were never paid by Heartland and would not do the work unless I paid out of pocket. The best part is when I called Heartland they had no record of this repair, the only repair the had for a door replacement 1 month before I even bought the trailer. Then there was a bent axle and Heartland told me it was not their responsibility. I contacted the axle manufacturer and within 5 minutes on the phone they were shipping me a new axle, which I changed myself in my driveway, as well as having to replace both tires. Now lets get to the roof, somewhere for sometime the roof was leaking down in to the wall so where the canopy is bolted is now loose and not once while inspecting the roof did I ever see anywhere that looked suspicous. Then right before a trip out the water was pouring in through the bedroom light as it had finally became apparent there was an issue. It looks like during construction there was a big gap left on the roof and the wall that someone filled with what appeared to be construction putty covered with caulking. I made a quick fix and after the trip had it fixed at a repair shop and it was them who pointed out that this was going on for some time. Well wouldn't you know it it is leaking again but from somewhere else that I have yet to confirm but what is confirmed is that I now have to replace the ceiling in the bedroom. This trailer has been plagued by poor craftsmanship, poor quality materials and no quality control and no concern for the customers hard earned money. I would never reccomend a Heartland product to anyone, they do not stand by their poor work.

08 NOV 2020 To: Gander RV and Heartland RV Management From: John D Spyker (Customer # XXXXXXX) Subject: Experience with GANDER RV (Saint Augustine Fl-Dealer) and Heartland RV (manufacture) in reference to Pioneer RG-22 Camper/Trailer Summary: The Gander RV’s services department’s fell significantly short of any reasonable or expectation. The warranty that is offered on all new units is not a Gander RV warranty but a combination of several manufacturers’ warranties. If there are issues with a new camper and the service department is required to repair it under warranty, they reach out to the manufacturer or component companies to claim the warranty. This causes significant delays in repair. Also, if there are any disputes from a manufacturer or component company, they proved unable or unwilling to resolve most disputes without intervention from the owner. Communication between service management, service personnel and service technicians was poor. Quality assurance is nearly non-existent. Service Management actively avoid conflict resolution. Service management did offer a few minor amenities (an extra sway bar and below standard repair to minor damage to camper at no additional charge), but this compensation fell significantly short of making things right. The manufacturer (Heartland) produces a product that is poorly constructed and designed while their warranty department goes above and beyond in their efforts to dispute valid repair claims. Gander RV continues to conduct business with this company despite reporting routine dissatisfaction of interaction with the company. Major Material Issue Summary: Problem 1: Broken Shower Drain- repair periods 1-3 - never fully resolved Problem 2: Wheel Well Fender Defect - repair period 1/2 - warranty dispute Problem 3: Leaking Toilet Flush Valve- repair period 2-3 Problem 4: Refrigerator- repair period 4 Other issues: Long repair times largely due to lack of Communication and reluctance to cover warranty related issues. Camper Timeline Summary 27 Aug 19: Received custody up new camper at Gander RV. 05 Sep 19 - 09 Dec 19: Repair Period 1 (Problem 1, Problem 2) - 95 Days 27 Apr 20 - 06 Aug 20: Repair Period 2 (Problem 1, Problem 3) - 101 Days 10 Aug 20 - 06 Nov 20: Repair Period 3 (Problem 1 Problem 4) - 108 days end of year warrenty (27 Aug 20)

To put it simply, the Heartland Pioneer QB300 seems like it was built out of popsicle sticks, glue, and staples! There must not be a quality control manager at the plant. Water pipes were left loose and leaking and it was only noticed while sitting outside of the trailer by water seeping out of the bottom. The bathtub drain has leaked since purchased and has been repaired twice. I will try to fix it a third time myself. After my first trip with it, the wall siding on the inside was coming off, the cabinet was hanging, the seat (wood frame) in the bunkhouse came apart, and the frame on the bed was broken in the main bedroom. My only wish is that I could return this trash heap and get my money back... The bunkhouse, U-shaped dinette, separate bedroom, and overall look of this trailer is what enticed me to purchase it. If I would have known that instead of enjoying my trips with my family that I would be constantly putting the trailer back together, I would've definitely went with another manufacturer. Heartland.....You have the potential to have something great, supervise your workers and hire some quality control personnel.

Overall the floor plan is why I purchased this camper. It fits my family comfortably and the price was right. Pros: Floor plan Exterior kitchen Slides Bathroom accessible from the outside Bunk house Cons: Has room for extra storage that the factory didn’t utilize Seems to be built in haste Controls for water pump and heater are accessible to children (could have been higher.) Overall a low quality of build, I am systematically going through and correcting the little things the manufacture should have done. Conclusion I would buy this camper again, considering that I saved 10k compared to the competitors version. Who knows possibly the competition is equally constructed.

The only positive feedback I can give is, the camping experience with my family has been great, BUT I tremendously regret buying a pioneer heartland BH270. The camper is laid out great but the craftsmanship and roofing is beyond disappointment. I should have known the day that we came to pick it up there were already pieces of trim coming off. Within nine months of owning the roof started to bow up meaning the sealant was not in place like it should. With that being said we thought we would be good with a one-year warranty but because I did not read the owners manual in depth (which I will take responsibility for) and did not take it back in 90 days for an inspection. Which was never mentioned when we bought it only raves about the one year manufacture warranty for the roof/craftsmanship being replaced if anything happened. Within less than six camping trips and those being less than 1000 miles total the stabilizer went bad in the back the axles were not correctly tightened which made all tires start to where not to mention the roof needing complete repair. Manufacture did not back the roof saying it was on us for lack of maintenance had a known 90 days it needed to be checked I would have. If one cannot produce a product that is good after 90 days that’s not saying much for the products that are being produced. Save yourself the trouble of buying a camper that a manufacturer does not stand behind. If I had it to do over I would still buy a camper just not a Heartland pioneer manufactured camper.

Don’t Buy Heartland! They are horrible company with terrible customer care. We bought a brand new camper under a year ago and have nothing but issues with leaks since our first camping trip. They will take their time approving any warranty work, if they approve it all. Currently our camper is in because the seal around the slider is leaking and they are refusing to warranty it, the leak caused major damage and rot. They built a poorly constructed camper, and won’t stand by there product. They will do anything to try and get out of warranty repairs. We lost the first 6 weeks of camping last year because they took their time approving the warranty from a factory plumbing issue, now it’s been in the shop for close to 5 weeks and nothing has been done. Save yourself and look for a different manufacturer. Heartland is a terrible company that will not stand by their product.

DO NOT BUY! Pros: floor plan. Cons: Sewer vent is almost inside the bathroom exhaust vent, so close that a vent cover cannot be installed and when parked with the wind from the rear the smell of feces fills the camper. The hot water heater cannot have an anode installed by design and it fermented while sitting over 3 months getting a leaking tub drain fixed. Now the water smells of sulfur and stinks the camper up terrible. The AM/FM radio didn't have an antenna connected. The furnace failed twice in the first 3 weeks. Back to the tub leak, the pea trap under it hit the floor and the tub had no support so it leaked. This despite two huge holes cut in the floor to accommodate the pea trap, they missed. Some of the panneling is pealing back it's so thin. Summary: The poor design, shoddy workmanship and cheap materials are appalling.
