The Mercedes chassis & cab have had excellent performance, however Thor's quality control regarding workmanship and quality of furnishings and equipment is horrible! *The captain's seats and the couch faux leather upholstery pealed with zero compensation or help from Thor. *The Axxera radio and backup camera is unusable junk. *The bathroom faucet was missing fasteners. *All the wiring under the coach has unprotected squeeze connectors, many of which had to be replaced. *The coach is deafeningly noisy on the highway. *Access to the bathroom is almost impossible when the slides are in. *Obviously no Thor engineer has ever tried to access the spare tire buried under the coach when needed for a flat repair! ....I could go on, but the above at least makes clear that Thor has no conscience when it comes to charging premium $ for shoddy products.

We picked it up from the dealer and started our 1100 mile trip home to see how it handled. It was a great ride the Sprinter Mercedes diesel got great mileage and handled very well even going through an Arizona monsoon that I thought would never end. Great coach for the money.

My wife and I took our new Synergy SD24 on an extended vacation from the west cost to the east coast, south to Texas then back to Victoria - three months on the road. Before we started our trip, I did some re-arranging and added shelves to free up more storage space. I also replaced the kitchen and bathroom faucets to ones more to our liking. On our trip, we found the Mercedes was a dream to travel in - easy to get into tight spaces to fuel up, grocery shop, sight see and park overnight. My fuel mileage was better than I get with my unloaded GMC 2500. Lots of power in the mountains and good brakes and engine control for downhills. Like others, we had some manufacturing deficiencies (mostly cosmetic) but our dealer was diligent in correcting them. On the highway, the Synergy handled very well - but swayed going into and out of un-level parking lots. The water heater took some getting used to, but we learned to reduce the temperature for showers and just use hot water - that worked very well. The microwave convection was impressive - I baked muffins and meat loaves very successfully. The seats and bed were very comfortable - comparable to our Volvo seats and bed at home. The Synergy isn’t for someone looking for oodles of space - it’s very compact and space efficient, but that is it’s attraction. Overall, I would recommend the Synergy as a great unit for shorter stays, efficiency and ease of handling.

The on demand Gerard water heater never worked properly. Pressure on the cold water line is adequate but the hot water line is half the pressure which won't allow the water heater to activate. After two days in shop they got it to work on their city pressure but not on pump mode. A bigger pump was required but Thor would not pay for it under warranty. Still no hot water when connected to park water and we have tried at nine different parks. Thor denies they have a problem. But we have no pressure an no hot water on the hot water faucets. In the first week we traveled with this new Synergy we have found parts obviously installed upside down, drawer latches missing, light fixtures hidden in cabinets because they wouldn't stay on the mounting, and screws on the floor that had come loose while driving. The workmanship is not what one would expect from a vehicle priced at $130,000. My 2001 Coachmen Aurora theis of better quality at sixteen years old.
