2014 Grand Design Solitude reviews

I purchased used and do not move the camper. I have had it for 3 years now and no issues with camper. do not know how it pulls as it stays in 1 spot year round and do not have any means to transport it. Me and wife enjoys the layout of this camper. as i said i have not had any issues come up mechanicly or electroically. only wish it had a outside fridge built in with a sink but other then that it is a great camper. The 40’ RV is the perfect length to tow and for weeks on livability. This particular RV is very spacious and comfortable. The kitchen layout is perfect for the family to interact while cooking eating and watching a late movie. The outside shower unit allows you to clean up your kids or family pet before entering the RV. But one of the most important and best feature is the one touch self leveling of the Solitude RV by Grand Design. Show less

We were just looking at this 5th wheel, it got are attention. Would love to own this one. Very beautiful, the only thing was the dry weight was high at over 13 thousand. But every thing was perfect for us. Thank you Bob. Show less

We bought our 2014 Grand Design Solitude new in 2014 and have lived in it for extended periods of time since. We have thoroughly enjoyed the RV and have not had any major issues with it other than some problems that we caused ourselves. The dealer and manufacturer were very supportive and accommodating in correcting those problems. We love the features and design of the RV and would really not change a thing. Show less

This 5th wheel has blown me away. Survived a winter in Colorado with -20 temperatures with 0 issues and no freezing pipes. Grand Design has made me a life long customer. Quality and craftsmanship has been spectacular as I used this for full time living during projects away from home. Show less

This is an excellent floor plan and provides more than enough space to enjoy RV living. It is spacious and comfortable and the king-sized bed provides ample roominess for a comfortable night's rest. The vehicle is very stable and tows easily behind our Ford F250 6.4 diesel. Never had a problem working with the manufacturer. Highly recommend this unit to anyone who is looking for a well-designed, affordable and comfortable 5th wheel. Show less

WE can't say enough great things about the Grand Design Company. Any issues that we had with our "Bella" were taken care of...and then more. Incredible customer service from a super great bunch of people. We would never consider any other RV than a Grand Design product! Show less

While we love this rv, we have had only problems with the leveling system panel. It has had to be replaced once and now will not work at all. We thought it was the battery but after buying a new one it does not seem to be the problem. We have had to replace the lippet system in one of our slide outs but they did replace it at no cost. I have lived in this RV since I bought in August 2015, it had one owner for six months who traded it for a Toy Hauler while I was at the dealer shopping around. I had to take out the packing tape and papers off the stove and refrigerator myself since the guy only used it twice. I have had no problems at all with it. It is constructed superbly. And it is truly a four seasons rig, I have tested it and normally there is 5-7 degrees difference from the temp outside. Keeps the inside nice and comfortable. One design draw back I find is that the awning ends right by the door and when it rains you will get wet. In addition, the living room slide also ends by the door and the rain water will come down right next to the door as well. It is now to big for me and I have to downsize but I honestly wish I could keep it. Show less

WE had this rig for about 26 months. It was a nice rig, but continually had problems with it. It stayed in the shop almost as much as we had it at home. We finally got tired of the problems and traded it in. The trade in and re-sale value was about half what we paid for it. So it did not hold it's value at all.. We got another Grand Design because it was a much smaller bumper pull, and because we got a better deal trading it in where we bought it, which wasn't much. We have already had problems with the new Grand Design, and will most likely not buy another one. We have had several other brands, and had less problems with most of them.. Show less
